50 Miles in the White Peak
50 Miles in the Dark…
The Peak District 100 concept of 50 miles in the White and 50 miles in the Dark was registered by Beyond Marathon in 2015, but it took until 2022 to bring the vision to fruition with the help of Cockbain Events Ltd. The Peak District is split into two areas. The White’ Peak, called so after the limestone, and the Dark Peak after the black gritstone. The Dark Peak 50 begins with a climb up to Shining Tor, one on the highest points in the Peak DIstrict with panoramic views over the whole National Park. Then down into the Goty Valley with the 50 route going onto Hayfield and then along the spectacular ridges and summits of Mam Tor, Lose Hiil, Win Hill and Cave Dale before returning to Buxton. for 2025 White Peak 50 has been redesigned, following extensive negotiations with land owners to bring you the very best of the Peak Distirct including the Roaches and Shutlingsloe. The Peak District Marathon remains the same course as always, as it was so well enjoyed.
